Incompletely specified probabilistic networks
نویسنده
چکیده
Probabilistic networks, used as an adjunci or alternative to the logzcal models used in AI and DSS, ogler a way to compactly represent a distribution over a set of random variables. Nonetheless, the specification of a given network may require conditional probabilities which are simply unavailable. In this paper a means for analyzing incompletely specified networks is presented, and some general rules are derived from the application of the method to some simple networks.

Preferences, Links, and Probabilities for Ranking Objects in Ontologies
In previous work, we have introduced variable-strength conditional preferences for ranking objects in ontologies. In this paper, we continue this line of research. We propose a new ranking of objects, which integrates this userdefined preference ranking of objects with Google’s importance ranking (called PageRank) based on the link structure between the objects. We also propose to use probabili...
متن کاملRule-based joint fuzzy and probabilistic networks
One of the important challenges in Graphical models is the problem of dealing with the uncertainties in the problem. Among graphical networks, fuzzy cognitive map is only capable of modeling fuzzy uncertainty and the Bayesian network is only capable of modeling probabilistic uncertainty. In many real issues, we are faced with both fuzzy and probabilistic uncertainties. In these cases, the propo...
متن کاملLPKP: location-based probabilistic key pre-distribution scheme for large-scale wireless sensor networks using graph coloring
Communication security of wireless sensor networks is achieved using cryptographic keys assigned to the nodes. Due to resource constraints in such networks, random key pre-distribution schemes are of high interest. Although in most of these schemes no location information is considered, there are scenarios that location information can be obtained by nodes after their deployment. In this paper,...
متن کاملProbabilistic Contaminant Source Identification in Water Distribution Infrastructure Systems
Large water distribution systems can be highly vulnerable to penetration of contaminant factors caused by different means including deliberate contamination injections. As contaminants quickly spread into a water distribution network, rapid characterization of the pollution source has a high measure of importance for early warning assessment and disaster management. In this paper, a methodology...
متن کاملEquivalence Checking in the Presence of Incompletely Specified Boxes
We consider the problem of checking whether an implementation which contains parts with incomplete information is equivalent to a given full specification. We study implementations which are not completely specified, but contain boxes which are associated with incompletely specified functions (called Incompletely Specified Boxes or IS–Boxes). After motivating the use of implementations with Inc...
